2018 Sighting in Beavercreek, OR

2018 Beavercreek Sighting
This is the view from where the two witnesses initially saw the sasquatch in the woods to their left.

On Saturday, March 31, 2018 a woman and her 14-year-old daughter were going door to door in the Beavercreek area inviting residents to a local church function.  They approached one house in the vicinity of South Beavercreek Road and South Highland Road and knocked on the door.  Dogs inside the home starting barking, but nobody answered.  While waiting for an answer, the daughter heard rustling in the brush to her left.  She looked over and saw a “big, dark, furry hand moving” by a tree.

At that point, her mother noticed a change in the daughter’s body language and asked what was wrong.  The daughter turned around, eyes wide with distress, and told her mother what she had seen.  Her mother looked to where the figure was seen and saw for herself a large, dark figure moving back into the woods.

The two decided to immediately leave, so they got into their car and started driving away.  At this point, the daughter looked back and saw the figure standing back further in the woods halfway stepping out from behind a tree and watching the car leave.  She described the figure as “big, tall, and thick” and that it was covered in hair.  She clearly saw its shoulder and head, along with half an arm.  The head was conical in shape, and the figure was “a couple feet taller” than a 6 foot-tall man.

The encounter stirred an interesting emotion in the girl.  She felt anger that “they don’t tell us about these things,” but they’re really there.

I visited the sighting location on 4/6/18.  With permission from property owners, I walked around  the woodsfor about an hour in the general vicinity of where the sasquatch was seen hoping to find some trace of its presence.  The ground is blanketed with a layer of salal (Gaultheria shallon) three or more feet tall in many places.  There were small walking paths and animal trails zigzagging through the brush and among the trees.  A swampy marsh straddles the border of several properties in the area, though I only had access to two.

One of the property owners notified me that his girlfriend had recently noticed a large number of mice in the woods outside.  Several reports I have taken over the years indicate that when there are too many of a certain animal in an area, whether it is mice, fish, rabbits, deer, or whatever, there are sometimes sasquatches in the vicinity exploiting the feast.  This might be what was going on in this location.

I found no sign of any passing animal, but it had been six days and it had rained several times since, and quite hard.  I invited the property owner of one home to contact me with any further information.

The Beavercreek area is promising for sighting reports, and certainly many more happen there than are shared publicly.  The most recent flap of reports from that vicinity was from December of 2015 when two sighting reports surfaced within a month of each other.  Numerous reports, and even some casts, have come from the outlying areas of Colton, Molalla, and Dodge as well.  One can only hope that the local residents report their encounters with sasquatches so more can be learned about the habits of the sasquatches that live in the area.

If you are aware of sasquatch encounters in this area, or any area near you, please let me know by filling out a report form to be added to my internal database.  Your private information will not be shared.

Update 7/30/18

While driving through the area this past week, the reporting witness noticed that the property owner has put up a sign on the road.  I love witnesses with a great sense of humor!
